2.3.1  General
Stainless steel shall be Grade 304xx or 316xx series, as specified in ASTM A240/A240M.
2.3.2  Thickness
The thickness of stainless steel sheet for bidets or bidettes shall be not less than 1.2 mm.
2.3.3  Surface finish (internal and external)
Stainless steel shall be polished to a satin finish or a non-reflective finish.
2.3.4  Construction
Where welding is employed, the welding materials shall be compatible with the material to be welded.Welds shall be free of cracks and pits, and shall be ground and polished internally and externally. Any joins shall be made so that their strength is not less than that of the parent material and shall be free from crevices and folds.3.1  General
This Section specifies requirements for the design and manufacture of bidets and bidettes.
3.2  Bidette air gap
Fitted tapware shall have a minimum air gap of 25 mm between the lowest point of the water outlet and the overflow level of the bowl. See Figure 1.
3.3  Fixing and support
Provision shall be made for the bidet or bidette to be rigidly fixed to the floor or wall in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions. When tested in accordance with the safety load test in Appendix B, a bidet or bidette and support brackets, where applicable, shall be capable of supporting the load, and shall not crack, split, deform or craze.
3.4  Drainage
The bottom of the bidet or bidette shall have a continuous fall to the waste outlet hole.
3.5  Support
The bidet or bidette design shall ensure that when installed, no load is placed on the waste pipe and water connections.
3.6  Waste outlet
The waste outlet hole and recess shall allow for a waste fitting conforming with AS 1589 or AS 2887 such that when installed, the fitting permits unrestricted drainage of the bowl, tap and water supply outlet holes.
The location of tap holes shall be at the discretion of the manufacturer.
3.7  Integral components
Where the product includes integral plumbing components, accessories or fittings that require certification as specified in the NCC, these shall conform with the applicable requirements of the Standards or specifications for that product.
