1.5.5 Waste outlet
The waste outlet hole shall be capable of accommodating a standard waste outlet fitting of DN 40 in accordance with AS 1589 or AS 2887 so that when installed, the fitting is below the level of the bottom of the bath (not including the recess). If such a fitting is not supplied with the product, then the surround of the outlet hole shall be recessed.
6.3.1 General
Tests shall be carried out on test specimens cut from a bath or a complete bath as specified in Clause 6.3.2. New test specimens or baths may be used for each test.
6.3.2 Surface quality
When viewed from a distance of between 500 mm and 600 mm with a surface illumination of not less than 300 lx, the surface of the bath shall be without distortion, defects and blemishes such as cracks, crazes, chipped areas, blisters, pinholes, or print through. Any doubtful areas shall be tested in accordance with AS 3558.6.
6.3.3 Chemical and stain resistance
When a specimen is tested in accordance with AS 3558.2, the material shall be unaffected by the reagents listed except for removable stains as defined in AS 3558.2.
6.3.4 Colour fastness
When specimens are tested in accordance with AS 3558.3, the material shall not craze, crack or exhibit signs of any defect. Any change in colour shall register not less than Grade 4 on the grey scale of AS 2001.4.A01.
6.3.5 Surface scratching
When a specimen is tested in accordance with AS 3558.4 using a 4H lead, there shall be no indentation or scratching deeper than 0.15 mm. Removable scratches, as defined in AS 3558.4, shall be acceptable.
6.3.6 Impact
When a specimen is tested in accordance with AS 3558.11, it shall not crack, craze or show any signs of delamination.
6.3.7 Thermal shock test
When a bath is tested in accordance with AS 3558.12, the bath material shall show no evidence of cracking, crazing, blistering, delamination or severe discoloration. Removable discoloration, as defined in AS 3558.2, is acceptable.
